X Factor contestant, Rachel Crow, was eliminated last night

It was very emotional to watch the very young contestant Rachel Crow eliminated.  She happens to be fantastic!  Rachel was amazing when performing the survival song, “I’d Rather Go Blind” by Ellington Jordan and recorded by Etta James in 1968.

However, rumor has it that we will see more of her in Hollywood and frankly we should see her succeed in movies or shows because she is very talented.

Rachel Crow is only 13 years old, and probably neither the judges nor the audience expected Rachel Crow to breakdown in front of millions of people on national TV.

Perhaps the minimum age limit of the contestants should be higher.  The pressure to be in a competition such as this where millions of people are watching you perform is enormous and most 13 years olds would not be able to handle the pressure that comes along with a competition of this nature.

The X Factor Producers as well as other shows that do not have a minimum age limit should seriously consider having in-house counselors or psychologists interact with the contestants to prepare these youngsters on how to handle the emotional fall as they go through the process of elimination.  After all it is a competition and all but one will be eliminated so they should be ready to handle the blow.

However, we wish Rachel Crow much success in the future; she is a talented young lady and we hope that soon she will have a record contract or perhaps a movie deal.

  1. I also believe the minimum age to compete on these sort of events should be raised. The amount of pressure on a young contestant is staggering. But I do wish her luck, for her age, she has a large amount of talent!
